Secondary schools across South Tyneside are seeking confident individuals to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. Working under the guidance of qualified teaching staff, you will deliver lessons, follow established schemes of work, and help maintain structured and purposeful learning environments. Opportunities may be subject-specific or more general, depending on school needs.

This position is ideal for candidates with strong subject knowledge who are looking to gain classroom teaching experience without holding Qualified Teacher Status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering lessons using provided plans or curriculum guidance

  • Supporting pupil engagement and progress in lessons

  • Applying behaviour management and safeguarding policies consistently

  • Working collaboratively with departmental teams and senior leaders

Requirements:

  • Strong subject knowledge aligned with the secondary curriculum

  • Experience working with young people is desirable but not essential

  • An interest in developing teaching experience or progressing into formal teacher training

This role offers valuable classroom exposure within a secondary school setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
