As a Teacher (Non-QTS), you may deliver lessons, follow existing schemes of work, and contribute to maintaining structured learning environments under the guidance of qualified teaching staff. Roles may be subject-specific or general, depending on school requirements.
Secondary schools across Sunderland are recruiting a Teacher (Non-QTS) to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. This Teacher (Non-QTS) role is suitable for individuals with strong subject knowledge who are seeking classroom teaching experience without holding Qualified Teacher Status.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering lessons using provided lesson plans or curriculum guidance
- Supporting pupil progress and participation in lessons
- Applying school behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently
- Working collaboratively with department staff and senior leaders
Requirements:
- Strong subject knowledge relevant to the secondary curriculum
- Experience working with young people is preferred but not essential
- Interest in gaining further teaching experience or progressing into teacher training
This Teacher (Non-QTS) role provides valuable classroom exposure within a secondary school setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
