Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 2 (KS2) Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Class

Location of school: Burgess Hill

Job Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to students in a Key Stage 2 (KS2) Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) class
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students with ASC
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with ASC
  • Support students with communication, social interaction, and sensory needs
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to meet the needs of students with ASC

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and strategies to support students
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards students with ASC

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday during school hours
  • Work primarily within a Key Stage 2 (KS2) ASC class
  • Will involve some flexibility in working hours to attend meetings or training

Driving is desireable however there the school is walking distance from the train station.
