Job Duties:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students in accordance with the curriculum, utilising effective instructional techniques and strategies.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
- Develop lesson plans and educational activities that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and independent learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, such as assignments, exams, and class participation.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the wellbeing and safeguarding of all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents/guardians to support the education and welfare of students.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
- Supervise students during break times and assist with extracurricular activities, as needed.
- Follow school policies and procedures, including those related to behaviour management and discipline.
Required Qualifications:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching within a primary school setting, specifically in KS1 and KS2.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics and behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
Education:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience as a primary school teacher.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
Knowledge and Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of primary education principles and pedagogy.
- Familiarity with PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) requirements.
- Proficiency in using various teaching resources and technology to enhance learning.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students.
- Knowledge of early years education and reception curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications or training related to special educational needs (SEN).
- Experience in leading extracurricular activities or school-wide initiatives.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a primary school environment, primarily within classrooms.
- Full-time contract, with regular working hours during school term times.
- Potential for occasional extracurricular activities or staff meetings outside of regular hours.
- Collaboration with colleagues, parents/guardians, and school administrators.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
