Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students in accordance with the curriculum, utilising effective instructional techniques and strategies.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Develop lesson plans and educational activities that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and independent learning.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, such as assignments, exams, and class participation.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the wellbeing and safeguarding of all students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents/guardians to support the education and welfare of students.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
  • Supervise students during break times and assist with extracurricular activities, as needed.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including those related to behaviour management and discipline.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting, specifically in KS1 and KS2.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics and behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and time management abilities.

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a primary school teacher.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of primary education principles and pedagogy.
  • Familiarity with PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) requirements.
  • Proficiency in using various teaching resources and technology to enhance learning.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Knowledge of early years education and reception curriculum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or training related to special educational needs (SEN).
  • Experience in leading extracurricular activities or school-wide initiatives.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a primary school environment, primarily within classrooms.
  • Full-time contract, with regular working hours during school term times.
  • Potential for occasional extracurricular activities or staff meetings outside of regular hours.
  • Collaboration with colleagues, parents/guardians, and school administrators.
