Student Welfare Officer
Location: Finchley, London
Position: Full-time and part-time positions available
Pay: £90 - £120 per day (based on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Student Welfare Officer to join a school in Finchley. In this role, you will support students’ well-being, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and ready to engage in their learning. Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies, you will play a key role in addressing barriers to learning and promoting a positive, inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students with social, emotional, and personal challenges
- Act as a trusted point of contact for students, guiding them in developing healthy coping strategies
- Collaborate with school staff and external agencies to address student well-being and ensure coordinated support
- Monitor and encourage regular attendance, addressing issues that may impact students’ engagement
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding practices to ensure a safe school environment
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a student welfare, pastoral, or educational support role is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring and approachable demeanor
- Patience, resilience, and sensitivity when handling complex or confidential matters
- Good organizational skills and an understanding of safeguarding standards
- A commitment to promoting the welfare and personal growth of all students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
