As a Student Support Officer, you will work closely with pupils, pastoral teams, and teaching staff to provide structured support that helps students remain engaged with education.
Secondary schools across Sunderland are recruiting a Student Support Officer to work with pupils who require additional pastoral, behavioural, or attendance-related support. This Student Support Officer role plays an important part in supporting student engagement throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting students with behaviour, attendance, or wellbeing needs
- Working with pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis
- Monitoring engagement and reporting concerns to pastoral staff
- Supporting pupils during lessons and unstructured times
Requirements:
- Experience in a school, youth, or pastoral setting is preferred but not essential
- An interest in student support and secondary education
- Ability to work within school policies and procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
