We’re looking for confident, motivated people to work in secondary schools across Newcastle, helping to keep lessons on track and students engaged when teachers are unavailable. It’s classroom experience without the planning, marking, or long hours — perfect for graduates or career changers wanting to explore life in education.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise lessons and deliver pre-prepared work

  • Keep students focused and learning during cover lessons

  • Support the school day-to-day, working with teachers and support staff

  • Build valuable classroom experience and develop key skills

You’ll need:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, positive attitude

  • Confidence working with young people

  • A flexible, professional approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
