We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Graduate to join our team, focusing on supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs. In this role, you will play a vital part in implementing sports-based programmes and activities tailored to the unique needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate engaging activities and interventions that promote social interaction, emotional regulation, and personal development for individuals with Special Educational Needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate tailored interventions into the individual education plans (IEPs) of students with SEMH, focusing on areas such as communication skills, self-esteem, and resilience.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, offering encouragement, guidance, and practical strategies to help them overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals.
  • Monitor and track the progress and well-being of students, documenting observations and outcomes to inform ongoing support strategies and interventions.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to participate and succeed.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to supporting students with SEMH.
  • Stay informed about best practises and developments in the field of special education and SEMH, participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Experience or a desire to work with individuals with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health)
  • Strong understanding of the benefits of sports and physical activity for individuals with SEMH, along with the ability to adapt activities to meet their specific needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with SEMH.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
