Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant – Sensory & Care Support

Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £85–£100 per day (depending on experience)

This role is for the TAs who just get it.

We’re working with a specialist setting seeking a Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs, including sensory processing and personal care. It’s a hands-on role, but one where your calm presence makes a real difference.

Your day-to-day

  • Supporting pupils with sensory regulation strategies

  • Assisting with personal care in a respectful and dignified way

  • Helping pupils access learning using adapted resources and equipment

  • Working alongside therapists and teaching staff

  • Keeping clear records and supporting pupil progress

You’ll need

  • Level 3 TA qualification or relevant SEN qualification

  • Experience supporting pupils with complex or medical needs

  • Confidence with personal care routines

  • A patient, nurturing and resilient nature

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
