We’re working with a well-regarded secondary school in Middlesbrough that is looking for an engaging and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join their humanities team. The school offers a supportive leadership structure, a growing sixth form, and students who thrive with clear expectations and enthusiastic teaching.

The role includes:

  • Teaching Sociology at GCSE and A-Level

  • Planning and delivering thought-provoking lessons that promote discussion and critical thinking

  • Supporting students with exam techniques, essay writing, and sociological analysis

  • Working collaboratively within a friendly and supportive humanities department

  • Maintaining positive behaviour and clear classroom routines

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Holds UK QTS (or is working towards it)

  • Has experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Sociology

  • Can confidently deliver the specification and prepare students for exams

  • Brings enthusiasm, organisation, and a calm classroom presence

  • Enjoys contributing to the wider life of the school and sixth form
