Sociology is a 5-year journey which gradually seeks to become more challenging and rigorous for the students as it progresses through GCSE to A-Level.

The subject builds an understanding of inequalities and encourages a love of different cultures and social groups. The aim is that students will develop knowledge and empathy that will enable them to make positive contributions to society throughout their lives.

Sociology is an option choice at KS4 which follows the AQA specification. The course is taught over two years, starting in Year 10 and is assessed at the end of Year 11.  Sociology is a popular option for A level study. It is taught in class groups of approximately 20 students and like the GCSE it follows the AQA specification. It is a two-year course which is assessed by three 2-hour exams at the end of Year 13.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
