Thinking about a career where you can genuinely change a child’s day for the better?
If you’re a Sociology graduate with a real interest in behaviour, inclusion, and how young people make sense of the world, this role could be your ideal first step into education.
We’re working with a brilliant SEND school in [area] that’s looking for someone calm, thoughtful, and naturally curious about how children learn and develop. No two days look the same here, but that’s part of the magic. You’ll be supporting pupils with autism, social and communication needs, and a range of additional learning differences. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end either, you’ll work closely with experienced teachers and therapists who will guide you every step of the way.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them access learning
• Using your Sociology know-how to understand behaviour and build trust
• Creating calm, structured routines that help pupils feel safe
• Working with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to adapt activities
• Celebrating every small win, because progress looks different for every child
What we’re looking for:
• A Sociology degree or similar people-focused subject
• Experience with children or young people, either voluntary or paid
• Someone patient, warm, and genuinely interested in SEND
• A good communicator who can stay calm when things get loud or lively
What you get with Protocol Education:
• Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies
• A dedicated consultant who listens and supports you
• FREE access to our online CPD, including behaviour, autism awareness and trauma-informed practice
• Opportunities in mainstream, SEND and alternative settings
• Streamlined registration and quick, local placements
• A referral scheme if you bring friends along
