Job Description
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough
Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Primary Industry: Education and Training
Job Duties:
- Provide sensory support to students with visual or hearing impairments
- Adapt learning materials and teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Assist in creating accessible learning environments
- Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to develop educational plans
- Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and progress
- Offer training and support to school staff on sensory issues
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in sensory support or special education
- Experience working with students with sensory impairments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Education:
- Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in sensory support or related field
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of sensory impairments and their impact on learning
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and resources
- Ability to develop and implement individual education plans
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher level qualification in sensory support or special education
- Additional training in Braille or British Sign Language
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily in educational settings such as schools and colleges
- May require travel between different locations within Yorkshire and the Humber region
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
