Ever been the calm in the classroom when things feel a bit wobbly? This one’s for you.
We’re working with a friendly, supportive school in Gateshead looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who knows that progress isn’t always loud, flashy, or linear, and that small wins matter just as much as big ones.
You’ll be supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. Some days will be busy, some days will be tough, and plenty will be rewarding in ways only SEND roles ever are.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis
-
Helping children access learning in a way that works for them
-
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
-
Being a steady, reassuring presence in and out of the classroom
This role could be a great fit if you:
-
Have experience working with children with SEND, in schools or other settings
-
Are calm, patient, and confident building trusting relationships
-
Understand behaviour as communication
-
Want to feel genuinely valued for the work you do
What you’ll get with Protocol Education:
-
Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella faff
-
FREE access to our online CPD Academy
-
A dedicated consultant who actually listens
-
Opportunities across mainstream and specialist SEND settings
-
A smooth, supportive registration process
