Teaching Assistant – SEMH School (Day-to-Day Cover)

Location: Tower Hamlets
Pay: £90 to £95 per day
Contract: Flexible day cover, immediate start

What your role will involve

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs

  • Helping young people regulate, reset, and re-engage in learning

  • Using de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches

  • Working closely with teachers, mentors, and behaviour teams

  • Modelling consistency, empathy, and positive communication throughout the day

You’ll be a great fit if you have

  • Experience in SEMH, PRUs, youth work, mentoring or behaviour support

  • A calm, reassuring manner during challenging moments

  • Strong communication skills and a warm, down-to-earth approach

  • A genuine desire to help pupils build confidence and resilience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
