Teaching Assistant – SEMH School (Day-to-Day Cover)

Location: Hackney
Pay: £90 to £95 per day
Contract: Flexible day cover, immediate start

What the role looks like

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs

  • Helping young people regulate, reset, and engage positively

  • Using trauma-informed and de-escalation strategies

  • Working closely with teachers, mentors, and behaviour teams

  • Bringing consistency, empathy, and a reassuring presence

We’d love to hear from you if you have

  • Experience in SEMH, PRUs, youth work, mentoring, or behaviour support

  • A calm, steady approach when the day gets challenging

  • Strong communication skills and a warm, grounded manner

  • A genuine desire to support young people who need adults they can rely on
