We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex learning needs in a welcoming Sunderland school. You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to create a calm, structured environment that helps every pupil succeed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting children with autism, communication needs, or physical disabilities

  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions

  • Assisting with personal care or hoisting where needed (experience desirable)

  • Encouraging independence and confidence through positive reinforcement

You’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (school or care setting)

  • Strong communication, patience, and empathy

  • Understanding of sensory needs and emotional regulation

  • A genuine desire to make a difference, every single day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
