SEND Teaching Assistant – Sheffield (S5)

Salary: £17,500 – £19,500 pro rata
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Setting: Primary School

Make a real difference.

We’re looking for a caring, confident SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the heart of Sheffield (S5). The school is known for its inclusive ethos and warm, community feel — the kind of place where staff and pupils genuinely look out for one another.

You’ll be supporting children with Autism, helping them engage with learning, build confidence, and navigate the school day successfully. Patience, positivity, and good humour go a long way here — and if you’ve already worked with young people with Autism, you’ll know how rewarding those small wins can be.

Your day-to-day might include:

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with ASD.
  • Helping teachers adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and social interaction.
  • Celebrating progress — however small — every single day.

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have experience working with children or young people with Autism (in schools, youth work, or care settings).
  • You’re calm under pressure, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy helping children thrive.
  • You can commit to a full-time role in a supportive, friendly team.
