Job Description: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Kingston upon Thames, Greater London, England

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Support students in their learning activities both in group settings and on a one-to-one basis
  • Provide assistance with personal care needs as required
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEND
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Education:

Relevant qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs is desirable

Experience:

Prior experience working in a school or educational setting with SEND students, or personal experience with SEND individuals.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a school environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
