SEND Teaching Assistant – Peterlee & Surrounding Areas

Location: Peterlee
Contract: Full time, long term
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)

This supportive autism-focused provision is looking for a Teaching Assistant with a warm approach and a genuine interest in helping pupils who struggle with communication and sensory processing.

In this role you’ll:

  • Support students across different classes depending on need

  • Use visuals, schedules and structured activities

  • Help pupils feel confident during transitions

  • Support communication development

  • Work with teachers, speech therapists and support teams

You’ll fit beautifully if:

  • You have experience in SEN, care, autism support or behaviour

  • You’re reliable, compassionate and consistent

  • You enjoy working with pupils who need clear routines

  • You drive and can travel around Peterlee and nearby areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
