Teaching Assistant – SEND | North Leeds

Hours: Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per week – family-friendly hours, ideal if you’ve got little ones in school yourself ‍‍‍

Love helping others and making a real difference (without having to climb a mountain before tea)? ⛰️☕ We’re looking for brilliant Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in North Leeds, supporting learners with Autism and a range of complex needs.

This is a school where everyone looks out for each other – from the Communication & Interaction Leaders to the Family Support Officers and Behaviour Wizards ‍♀️. Together, they create a calm, caring environment where every pupil gets the chance to shine ✨

Class sizes? Nice and small – usually 6 to 9 learners. So, plenty of space to actually make an impact (and still breathe).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the teacher in class and helping learners engage in their lessons

  • Creating a calm, positive classroom vibe where every pupil can succeed

  • Sorting resources and helping keep the classroom running smoothly

  • Learning how to support SEND pupils effectively (we’ll help you with that!)

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Is open to learning new things – no know-it-alls needed

  • Can stay calm under pressure and bring a sense of humour to the day

  • Works well in a team and communicates easily (bonus points if you love a Yorkshire brew )

  • Either has or is willing to get an enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce)

What You’ll Get from Protocol Education

  • Ongoing training and development (including free SEND and Thrive courses!)

  • A supportive consultant who’s got your back every step of the way

  • Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella faff

  • A genuine chance to make a difference and build memories that’ll last longer than Auntie Jean’s Christmas pudding

Fancy a Chat?

Pop over your CV with a quick note, and we’ll give you a ring for a friendly natter about next steps. Not quite your role? No worries – we’ve got plenty more opportunities across West Yorkshire waiting for you.

Go make a difference (and enjoy doing it) ✨
