Protocol Education are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Durham area on a long-term basis. If you are wanting to make a difference in children’s lives then this could be the role for you! You will be joining an incredible, inclusive team that work with children who have Autism, severe and complex needs. Therefore having experience in working with SEN children is ideal however not essential.
What you’ll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Working closely with children who have special educational needs.
- Working effectively with colleagues and working as part of a friendly team
- Providing 1:1 or small group support
- Creating a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Required qualifications as a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs (youth club, school, tutoring, clubs)
- A calm and compassionate approach
- A genuine passion to support children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
