SEND Teaching Assistant – Peterlee/Sunderland Area

We’re supporting a specialist provision in the Sunderland area working with autistic pupils who need consistency, structure and adults they can trust. You’ll be part of a team that truly understands SEND, where small moments of progress feel like big wins.

What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting autistic pupils with communication, routines and learning
• Helping create a calm, safe and predictable environment
• Using sensory strategies with guidance from the team
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff

You’ll shine in this role if:
• You’ve supported pupils with SEND before, especially autism
• You’re calm and steady even when the day feels bumpy
• You communicate clearly and build trust slowly and gently

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
