Are you someone who brings calm, care, and creativity into the classroom? A wonderful specialist school in Newcastle is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who can support pupils with additional needs and help them feel confident and included every day.

About the role

You’ll be working with pupils who need a little extra guidance to make the school day feel manageable. The focus is on building trust, supporting emotional regulation, and helping pupils engage with learning in ways that work for them.

You’ll be:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support throughout the day

  • Encouraging pupils to take part in lessons and daily routines

  • Using simple, consistent strategies to help with behaviour and confidence

  • Helping create a positive, structured learning environment

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff

  • Celebrating progress, no matter how small
