We’re working with specialist and mainstream schools across Newcastle who need reliable, skilled TAs to cover short-term absences. You’ll use your classroom experience to make an immediate impact, supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs.

What your days could look like

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for children with SEND

  • Helping teachers deliver tailored learning activities

  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation with calm, consistent strategies

  • Working closely with teachers and support teams to keep lessons on track

  • Making sure pupils feel included, supported, and ready to learn

What we’re looking for

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with SEND

  • Someone flexible and reliable, happy to work in different schools

  • A calm, caring professional who can build rapport quickly

  • Confidence to step into new settings and hit the ground running

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
