Protocol Education is looking for caring, reliable, and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day basis within a supportive secondary special school in Barnet.

If you have experience supporting young people with additional needs, or you’re someone with a calm, patient approach and a genuine desire to help, this role offers the chance to make a real difference, one day at a time.

Every day brings something new, but the purpose remains the same: helping pupils feel supported, understood, and ready to learn.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils aged 11–16 with a range of SEND needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD

  • Assisting teachers with lessons, classroom routines, and behaviour support

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group guidance

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive learning habits

You’ll need:

  • Experience working with children or young people (schools, youth work, and care settings all welcome)

  • A calm, flexible approach with strong communication skills

  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
