Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant - Wiltshire

Protocol Education are recruiting a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for a special school in Wiltshire for students with who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school serves a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including; Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC); Attention Deficit, (Hyperactivity) Disorder AD(H)D; Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN); Opposition Defiance Disorder (ODD) and Attachment/Conduct disorders.

The applicant would be required to support students in lessons access learning, run one to one and small group interventions and support the wider SEND team.

Previous experience working with children with SEND is desired but not a necessity. Training will be provided, so a committed individual with a calm and reliable attitude is most important!

Job Overview:

-          Work as part of the wider SEND team. Focusing on providing best level of care and learning for the SEND Students

-          Support students in class, helping them to access learning

-          Monitor pupils progress through individual lessons, reporting back to SENCO and Class teacher

-          Support class teacher with general running of the lesson when required to do so

-          Run smaller one to one and group interventions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
