Protocol Education are working closely with a local junior school, close to Uxbridge in the West London borough of Hillingdon, who are seeking a full time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team for an ASAP start.

The school prides itself on high standard and outstanding provision and inclusion for all pupils including those with SEND and benefit form large airy school building and lots of outside space.

In this role you will be working with SEND including ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and will be supporting them within the classroom, working closely with the teachers to provide stimulating differentiated learning, to  ensure that all children are able to access the curriculum at their own pace.

This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will get to build nurturing relationships in order to make a significant difference in the lives of children and work alongside a team who understand how important specialist support staff are.

Desired

  • Have experience of working with autistic children.
  • Have experience of working with pre-verbal children.
  • Be confident using visuals
  • Be confident using a now/next board
  • Understand the importance of consistent SEND strategies
  • Be able to follow planning provided by the class teacher
  • Be familiar with PECs, Makaton or Signalong

You will benefit from a friendly and experienced team of staff as well as a consultant who genuinely cares about the people I work with, this is initially offered as an agency contract but there is potential for it to lead into a permanent position should this be something you're looking for.

The hours are Monday-Friday between 8.30-3.30 term time only.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
