SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Enfield
Full-time, long-term
Competitive daily pay, paid weekly via PAYE

Looking for a role where your calm, consistency, and patience really make a difference?

We’re working with a supportive SEND secondary school in Islington that’s looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support young people with additional needs. This is a setting that understands the challenges of secondary SEND and makes sure staff feel backed, valued, and part of a proper team.

You’ll be working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting them with learning, routines, and emotional regulation. Some days will be tough, others will bring real breakthrough moments, but every day you’ll know your support matters.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students with SEND, including autism, SEMH, and additional learning needs

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support in and out of the classroom

  • Helping students manage emotions and stay engaged in lessons

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

This role could be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEND or secondary setting

  • Stay calm under pressure and don’t take behaviour personally

  • Understand that behaviour is communication

  • Want to work in a school that genuinely values its support staff

What you’ll get with Protocol Education:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies

  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated SEND consultant

  • Opportunities in schools that match your experience and values
