SEND Primary Teaching Assistant

A Sheffield Primary school are searching for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced SEND TA who upholds a passion for providing children with SEND with the best experiences and tailored cooperation. This applicant will require experience working on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings with children of varying physical and educational needs.

 

The successful applicant will:

- Be reliable and consistent

- Understand an individual’s needs, not offering a common approach to all.

- Have ample experience with SEND pupils

- Ideally be PECS and/or Makaton trained. Although this is preferred, training can be offered to a standout applicant.

- Have NVQ 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting and assisting the daily needs of SEND pupils, ensuring a comfortable and enabling learning environment is provided.

- Guarantee input is given allowing contribution to individual learning plans.

- Liaising with outside professionals to ensure that each child is receiving what is required for their individual learning journey.

- Regular progress monitoring and recording of SEND pupils.
