Are you a recent Graduate? Protocol Education are currently seeking confident and passionate Teaching Assistants to work in a Secondary School in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). You will be supporting children 1:1 or in small groups with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), some of who will have challenging behaviours. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain relevant experience to go forward in your career. 

You must be able to work Full-Time (Monday to Friday during term time only). We have roles to begin immediately (pending clearance) until at least July 2023.

The key responsibilities:

  • You will be expected to accompany and support children in all their lessons, including English and Maths.
  • You will provide pastoral support and work under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • You will be responsible for implementing the targets on the pupils Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • To undergo safeguarding training and follow procedures at all times.
  • To develop knowledge of the particular needs of the children and seek advice from the SENCo, class teacher and outside agencies as required.

Requirements:

  • Hold a university degree 
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday (full-time)
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK 
  • A good level of numeracy and literacy is required, but in-depth subject knowledge in any area is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
