We’re supporting schools in Barking & Dagenham who are looking for an SEN Teacher able to bring clarity, consistency and warmth to pupils with a broad range of needs.

You’ll be working in a setting where pupils may present with autism, SEMH, communication differences or complex learning needs. Teachers here take a therapeutic, structured approach and work closely with a strong team of support staff.

The school environment is positive, steady and collaborative. It is perfect for a teacher who understands how vital routine and relationship-building are for SEND learners.

Your responsibilities

  • Teaching and guiding pupils with varied and complex SEN profiles
  • Planning purposeful, personalised lessons that encourage progress
  • Liaising regularly with TAs, therapists and parents to maintain continuity
  • Establishing a safe, predictable classroom that helps pupils regulate
  • Using a calm, adaptable style to navigate day-to-day challenges

What we need from you

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working in SEND or an alternative provision
  • Strong behaviour management and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Someone who works well in a joined-up, multi-agency environment
