Pay Rate: £130 – £180 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Newcastle. The role involves working with pupils who have a range of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
You’ll play a vital role in adapting lessons, supporting classroom engagement, and helping every student reach their potential within a mainstream setting. The school has a strong culture of inclusion and collaboration, with excellent leadership support and access to high-quality resources.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEND

Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence

Implement and review individual education plans (EHCP targets where relevant)

Work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support

Monitor and track pupil progress, adjusting approaches where necessary
What We’re Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience teaching pupils with additional learning needs within a secondary setting

Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, supportive approach

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
