At Protocol Education we’re looking for a compassionate SEND Primary School Teacher to join a specialist school in Durham starting as soon as possible. This school is all about creating a calm, nurturing spaces where children with additional needs can truly thrive. If you’re patient, creative and confident supporting children with SEND needs then this could be the role for you!

What you’ll be doing as a SEND teacher

  • Teaching and adapting lessons for the pupils with a range of needs (including ASD, MLD and SEMH).
  • Working closely with TA’S, therapists and parents to build strong support networks
  • Bringing creativity, structure and calm energy to every lesson.
  • Making progress personal, not just measurable.

Requirements for a SEND teacher

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience working in a classroom setting, ideally with SEND pupils
  • A nurturing, consistent approach and plenty of enthusiasm
  • Confidence working alongside TAs, therapists, and SENCOs
