Little wins. Big impact. This one’s all about the early years.
We’re working with a lovely specialist school in Durham who are looking for a caring, hands-on SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in their EYFS provision. These pupils are at the very start of their learning journey and they need someone calm, patient, and ready to celebrate every tiny step forward.
If you love messy play, sensory learning, and helping children feel safe and understood, you’ll feel right at home here.
What your days will look like:
-
Supporting young children with a range of SEN, including autism and communication needs
-
Helping pupils settle into routines and feel secure in their environment
-
Using play-based and sensory approaches to support learning and development
-
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team
-
Being that reassuring, familiar face children trust
This role could be a great fit if you:
-
Have experience supporting children with SEN, especially in EYFS or early years settings
-
Bring a calm, nurturing approach, even when days get a little busy
-
Understand that progress doesn’t always come with worksheets and that’s okay
-
Are happy getting stuck in, on the floor, outside, and wherever the learning happens
