We are seeking a passionate and committed SEND/SEMH Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Newcastle. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people who require tailored support to achieve both academically and personally.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEND and social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages positive behaviour and progress
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to match individual learning styles and abilities
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement personalised education plans
  • Provide both academic and pastoral support, helping pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and life skills

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
  • Strong classroom management skills with a focus on positive behaviour support
  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to education
  • Resilient, adaptable, and committed to ensuring every pupil can succeed

Essential Requirements

  • QTS or relevant teaching qualification
