We are looking for a passionate and committed SEND/SEMH teacher to join a specialist education setting in the Newcastle area.
If you are a mainsteam Primary School Teacher wanting to have experience in a specialist school or a experienced SEN Teacher, then this is the role for you!
About the role
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the pupils with SEND and social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages positive behaviour and progress.
- Differentiate accordingly so every child can reach their potential.
- Work closely with colleagues, SENCO, external staff and parents.
- Provide both academic and pastoral support, helping pupils to develop their confidence, resilience and life skills.
Requirements for a SEN Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND
- Strong classroom management skills with a strong focus on positive reinforcement.
- Ability to build strong lasting relationships with the pupils.
