We are currently recruiting specialist teaching assistants to work in a special needs school in Gateshead.  This particular school caters for students with special needs such autism, speech & language difficulties and pmld. Due the needs of the students, class sizes are reduced and cater to 8 - 10 students, providing you the opportunity to have a more aligned and focused approach to the students learning & development. As a teaching assistant will be supporting students with their academic & social development. This school are looking for people with personal or professional experience working with special needs, who have a calming and patient approach and are keen to apply their skills in education.

The role:
Working Monday to Friday - 8:30 - 4
Working one to one with students in core subjects and creative lessons
Differentiating work to meet the students needs
Working together as part of a team
Passionate about making a difference to students learning and wellbeing
