SEND Learning Support Teacher – South Tyneside

Where you’ll make a difference
You’ll support pupils with a range of SEND needs, helping them access learning, build routines and develop independence. Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff, you’ll play a key role in creating a classroom environment where pupils feel understood and able to succeed.
Your days will be varied, meaningful and filled with small wins that make a big difference.
Your key responsibilities
- Delivering tailored support to pupils with varying additional needs
- Working one-to-one and in small groups to build confidence and engagement
- Helping create structured routines that make school feel predictable and safe
- Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
- Using a positive, consistent approach to behaviour and communication
What you’ll bring to the team
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- A patient, reassuring manner
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence supporting personal care or sensory needs where required
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
