SEND Learning Support Assistant – Sunderland

A glimpse into the role

You’ll be working with children and young people who have a range of additional needs, helping them take small steps that make a big difference to their school day. From building routines to offering one-to-one support, you’ll play a key part in helping pupils feel comfortable and confident.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff to create a warm, structured environment where each child can thrive.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience supporting pupils or young people with SEND
  • A gentle, reassuring approach to communication and behaviour
  • Confidence with personal care and daily routines
  • A team-first mindset and clear communication
  • Level 2 or Level 3 TA training is useful but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
