SEND Learning Support Assistant – Sunderland

We’re working with a welcoming SEND school in Sunderland that’s looking for a calm, patient, and committed Learning Support Assistant to join their team. If you’re someone who brings kindness, consistency, and confidence to the classroom, this could be a lovely fit.

What Your Day Will Look Like

In this role, you’ll support children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and build routines that make school feel safe and manageable. You’ll work closely with teachers, TAs, therapists, and other support staff to create a positive, nurturing environment.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
  • A calm, caring approach to behaviour and communication
  • Confidence supporting personal care and daily routines
  • Strong teamwork and clear communication
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is helpful, not essential
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
