Protocol Education are recruiting a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor to work within a welcoming SEND school in Telford, starting this January.

This school provides a supportive, inclusive environment where pupils with additional needs are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As part of a well-regarded Trust, the school places strong emphasis on nurturing relationships, consistency, and creating a calm, structured setting where every pupil can succeed. They are now looking for a Cover Supervisor who can step in with confidence, maintain routines, and support pupils to stay engaged with their learning.

The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain focused on pre-set work and feel supported throughout the school day. You’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, positive, and predictable learning environment, which is especially important in a SEND setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervising whole classes in the absence of teachers

  • Supporting pupils to engage with pre-planned learning activities

  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, structured atmosphere

  • Acting as a positive role model with clear expectations for behaviour and conduct

The ideal candidate

  • Confident with classroom management and building positive relationships

  • Calm, patient, and able to adapt to individual pupil needs

  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to inclusive education

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly within SEND, is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
