Protocol Education are recruiting a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor to work within a welcoming SEND school in Telford, starting this January.
This school provides a supportive, inclusive environment where pupils with additional needs are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As part of a well-regarded Trust, the school places strong emphasis on nurturing relationships, consistency, and creating a calm, structured setting where every pupil can succeed. They are now looking for a Cover Supervisor who can step in with confidence, maintain routines, and support pupils to stay engaged with their learning.
The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain focused on pre-set work and feel supported throughout the school day. You’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, positive, and predictable learning environment, which is especially important in a SEND setting.
Key responsibilities

Supervising whole classes in the absence of teachers

Supporting pupils to engage with pre-planned learning activities

Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, structured atmosphere

Acting as a positive role model with clear expectations for behaviour and conduct
The ideal candidate

Confident with classroom management and building positive relationships

Calm, patient, and able to adapt to individual pupil needs

Proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to inclusive education

Experience working with children or young people, particularly within SEND, is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
