We’re on the lookout for SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in mainstream primary schools across Lewisham. Whether it’s helping a Year 2 child feel safe in the classroom or guiding a Year 5 pupil through sensory overload, you’ll be the calm, consistent presence they count on every day.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND (including autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs)

  • Supporting classroom routines and helping children engage with their learning

  • Using strategies that support emotional regulation and build confidence

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and sometimes external specialists

  • Celebrating progress—no matter how big or small

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Someone who’s unflappable, understanding, and genuinely committed to inclusion

  • Team players who can build trust with staff, pupils, and families

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or happy to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
