We’re on the lookout for SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in mainstream primary schools across Lewisham. Whether it’s helping a Year 2 child feel safe in the classroom or guiding a Year 5 pupil through sensory overload, you’ll be the calm, consistent presence they count on every day.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Providing 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND (including autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs)

Supporting classroom routines and helping children engage with their learning

Using strategies that support emotional regulation and build confidence

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and sometimes external specialists
-
Celebrating progress—no matter how big or small
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children with special educational needs

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Someone who’s unflappable, understanding, and genuinely committed to inclusion

Team players who can build trust with staff, pupils, and families

A valid DBS on the Update Service (or happy to apply for one)
