SEN Teaching Assistants, Wakefield

Pay to scale

If you have a calm presence, a big heart and a natural way of helping children feel seen and supported, our Wakefield SEND schools would love to work with you. We’re looking for SEN TAs who enjoy making learning accessible, who celebrate small wins and who understand that every young person’s journey looks a little bit different.

You’ll be joining welcoming schools that value patience, creativity and people who genuinely care. Whether you’ve worked in SEND before or you’re keen to step into a more nurturing role, we’ll support you with training, guidance and the friendly check ins that make all the difference.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs in and out of class

  • Adapting activities so every child can take part confidently

  • Encouraging independence and building trust with gentle consistency

  • Working closely with teachers and support teams

  • Bringing positivity to every day, even the wobbly ones

What you’ll bring

  • A kind, steady approach and a willingness to learn

  • Experience in SEND is helpful but not essential

  • Strong communication and a genuine passion for inclusion

  • Reliability, patience and a team first attitude

What we offer

  • Regular work across supportive Wakefield SEND settings

  • Free training and development to help you grow

  • A local team who champion you and celebrate your progress

  • Straightforward onboarding, quick communication and people who keep things simple

If you want a role where your support makes a real difference, this could be a lovely fit. Let me know if you’d like a version tailored for job boards or social posts.
