At Protocol Education we are looking for a supportive specialist Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs in specialist schools across Gateshead. What you’ll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language
- Working 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils access their learning
- Following personalised support plans with guidance from the SENCO
- Creating a safe, structured and reassuring environment
- Building trust with pupils who rely on consistent, steady adults
Requirements qualifications as a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting children with SEN
- A nurturing approach and a calm communication style
- Confidence working closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to individual pupil needs
- A genuine passion to support children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
