We’re looking for patient, steady, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to support a welcoming ASC (Autism Specialist) school in Hackney on a day-to-day supply basis.

You’ll be helping pupils feel understood, safe, and ready to learn, whether you’re supporting communication, sensory needs, or structured routines.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with autism

  • Helping pupils access learning through visual tools, calm routines, and personalised strategies

  • Supporting communication needs, including PECs, visual schedules, and modelling language

  • Working closely with teachers and specialists to create consistent, supportive environments

  • Using patience, empathy, and clear communication to build trust


What you’ll need:

  • Experience supporting children with autism, SEND, or behavioural needs

  • A calm, nurturing approach and an ability to stay positive under pressure

  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn

  • A DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
