Protocol Education is looking for compassionate, committed, and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis within a secondary special school in Newham.

Whether you have prior SEND experience or a naturally calm and supportive approach, this role offers the chance to make a positive difference to pupils who need it most — one school day at a time.

Each day brings new experiences and opportunities to help pupils feel secure, understood, and ready to learn.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students aged 11–16 with SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and mild to moderate learning difficulties

  • Assisting teachers with classroom routines, behaviour support, and lesson activities

  • Delivering focused 1:1 or small-group support

  • Encouraging emotional regulation, confidence, and positive learning behaviours

You’ll need:

  • Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care, or community settings welcome)

  • A patient, adaptable attitude and strong communication skills

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
