Mainstream SEND Primary Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

Are you looking for a role working with children with SEND in a mainstream school?

Protocol Education are currently recruiting on behalf of several Hackney based Primary Schools who are looking for experienced TA's to join them immediately and in September 2024.

Your role will be working with children within the classroom to provide extra support on a 1:1 basis.

Previous experience working with children with ASD would be highly beneficial for this role.

  • Supporting the teacher in delivering lessons and activities for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assisting students with their individual learning needs and providing additional support where necessary.
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborating with the teacher to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEND and different learning needs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher.
  • Additional training in supporting students with specific SEND requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
