About the School:
A supportive, inclusive mainstream school in Croydon is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school offers strong leadership, ongoing training, and a nurturing environment for both students and staff.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties. You will provide targeted academic and emotional support to help students engage in learning and make progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support.

  • Assist with differentiated learning activities set by the class teacher/SENCO.

  • Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.

  • Encourage independence, engagement, and positive learning behaviour.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or childcare setting).

  • A patient, proactive, and supportive approach.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with learners.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
