We’re supporting a fantastic SEN school in Gateshead that’s looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help pupils feel safe, understood and supported every day.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and social, emotional needs

Working 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils stay engaged, confident and settled

Helping with communication, routines and emotional regulation

Using positive, consistent strategies set by the SEN and pastoral teams

Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who rely on steady adults around them

Working with teachers to create a warm, structured classroom environment
What the school is looking for

Someone patient, reliable and genuinely motivated to support young people

A great communicator who builds rapport quickly and naturally
-
Experience in SEND, care, youth work, coaching or behaviour support is helpful but not essential

A calm presence, especially when the day gets a bit challenging
-
A team player with a positive, can-do approach
